Sunrise September 2024

“Since we have such a hope, we are very bold.”  2 Corinthians 3:12

A friend sent me this beautiful sunrise at the beach photo this week. The bold colors of red, orange, and yellow gild the blue sky and reflect in the ocean. The beauty of sunrise gives us hope for tomorrow and fills us with peace. These are the very elements we need to be bold in our faith in such a time of challenge.

2020 was the most challenging time I remember. Four years later, we face different challenges in the prolonged aftermath of the pandemic, another election cycle, political unrest, senseless violence, and unprecedented heat around the country. These are all just another opportunity for us to be very bold in reflecting faith, hope, and love from our hearts into people’s lives.

Our voices need to boldly proclaim the hope we have in Christ. We need to be bold in promoting peace and unity. Our hope makes us bold in our mission of love to the world. Look around and notice the things that are giving you hope right now. Maybe it’s the beauty and promise of sunrise. Maybe it’s the giggles of a toddler. Maybe it’s the wet kiss of your pet. Maybe it’s the hug of a loved one. Maybe it’s witnessing an act of kindness. Keep looking for these and more to give you a bold hope to reflect the love Christ into the world.

Boldly, Pastor Andrea
