DCLC Gilbert campus, 3-17-25

From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
the name of the Lord is to be praised. Psalm 113:3

God really got my attention on Monday night. I was early to our Council meeting at the Gilbert campus and the only person in sight. And then I noticed this incredible sunset. This perfect array of yellow, orange, red, pink, and purple on the horizon took my breath away. I jumped right up and snapped this photo. It was a glorious moment. I thanked God for this sunset that brought beauty into these impossibly difficult days. I breathed a sigh of relief being reminded that we are not alone. That God is present with us and will not abandon us. That good is still happening all around us.

Every day we have a promise in the sunset – Jesus is Emmanuel, God With Us. A promise that a new day is coming. Let those sunset moments be a reminder to praise the name of the Lord. To hang onto hope and keep praying. To do what you can where you are and keep serving, keep doing good, keep the faith.  Indeed God is with us whenever we gather in the Lord’s name, whenever we share faith, hope, and love. Look for the sunset moments and praise the Lord.

Can I get an Amen?
