Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 5:00pm worship service in Tempe

On Saturday, August 3, 2024, Ann Emilie Tjorhom, a student at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN, will be joining us for the 5:00pm worship service in Tempe. This past June, the Desert Cross Mission Endowment Fund made a gift to Luther Seminary in support of scholarships for students like Ann Emilie. She is joining us to thank the congregation for that generous gift. Please join us for a chance to meet her!

A native of North Phoenix, Ann Emilie is in her third year at Luther Seminary pursuing her Master of Divinity degree. She was part of campus ministry at the University of Arizona while a student and after graduation was part of the young adults in global mission (YAGM) and served in Argentina. After returning to the United States she felt the call to ministry very strongly and enrolled as a student at Luther Seminary. She is passionate about cross-cultural ministry and hopes God will lead her to an opportunity after graduation to serve a church with a focus in this area.

It is because of congregations like Desert Cross that Luther Seminary is able to provide 100% full-tuition scholarships to every student. Thanks to your generosity, Luther Seminary has been able to remove any financial barriers for students who wish to enter ministry and serve God's people across the globe.

Also joining Ann Emilie will be Alison Roberts, a staff member at Luther Seminary who connects with congregations and supporters of the Seminary here in the Valley.  If you are unable to join us on Saturday but would like to learn more about Luther Seminary or how you can support future pastors like Ann Emilie, you can reach Alison at aroberts004@luthersem.edu or (651) 641-3525.
