Health officials have called upon faith leaders to help bring an end to the pandemic. As leaders in the community, we want to empower people with information to help you make decisions about your health and the COVID-19 vaccine.
We are excited to share that as of this week, it is easier than ever to receive a vaccine. The state-run sites at AZ State University’s Desert Financial Arena in Tempe, Westworld in Scottsdale, and Gila River Arena in Glendale have many appointments available for people 16 and older. Appointments are the surest way, and the process is faster if you pre-register, but you can also show up and receive a vaccine. Visit this website for more information or to register.
You may have heard that the Center for Disease Control, or CDC, released new guidelines for fully vaccinated and unvaccinated people. There is a color-coded chart that shows risk levels for activities and for mask recommendations here. This site also has specific examples for the safest way to interact with others whether vaccinated or not.
We understand that some people might be hesitant to receive a vaccine. We want to encourage you to seek information from your medical provider or from our Parish Nurse for your individual circumstances. Getting questions answered from trusted people who know your medical history is one of the best ways to guide your decision making.
We want to stress that all are welcome in God’s House. We care about the health and well-being of our congregation and the community, and we look forward to a time when COVID-19 is gone from our society.
With the love of Christ,
Pastor Andrea
