Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17
Post-pandemic 2021 has taken us to a place we have never been before. We are all uncomfortable for lots of reasons! The church is a new place we have never been before. It is a time for change, growth, and new ways of doing ministry. That is just plain uncomfortable. But being uncomfortable means we are doing something new that will make us grow.
That’s the only way to adjust to new circumstances if we want to thrive. We don’t have a road map. We are truly in the wilderness making our way in a place we have never been before. But the good news is that we have each other. We have the greater church and churches near and far in the very same situation. We are working together to find the best way to do mission and ministry in this new world.
We may be uncomfortable but that will give us the energy we need in a time of pandemic fatigue to move forward and continue to be innovative and creative in how we worship, serve, and share God’s love with a hurting world. We have so much to offer, and we must find a way to get our Lutheran voice of grace into the hearts and homes of more people so together we can make a difference for those experiencing poverty, injustice, and discrimination in our community and in the world. Tune in to our live stream or join us in worship on July 11 for my sermon, “UNcomfortable” to learn more!
