Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer. Romans 12:12
Has Romans 12:12 ever been more needed in our world? In this time of chaos, division, natural disasters, global conflict, and pandemic, these words give us faith that we can still have hope in the midst of great difficulties. We need hope now more than ever. We must be patient taking it day by day and our daily prayers are necessary. What gives you hope in these days of 2021?
This photo gives me hope as signs of autumn come my way. My daughter in Wisconsin made this wreath, and I see it as a sign of hope that our rhythms of life will continue even in the chaos. The days are shortening, the evenings are a bit cooler, the birds are still singing, and Halloween decorations are in the store.
At DCLC we still have lots of stories of joy to share, we are still worshipping God together online and in-person, Saturday night service is back, our missional service is strong even if our financial situation is threatening, we’re exploring new partnerships, and we still have options even if difficult decisions are necessary.
We are looking toward future possibilities with hope! Please join us for our September 12th Rally Day kick-off! Our Sunday worship pattern will change with Tempe Traditional service at 8:30am & Contemporary live stream at 10:30am. Fellowship and faith formation are now in-between services and accessible to both services! Saturday night remains at 5:00pm. Gilbert remains at 9:00am with fellowship and faith formation following. Please be sure to join us in the fun as we reconnect to worship, learn, and serve together.
I’m giving thanks for you, Desert Cross, and all the ways you share your faith in these harrowing days. Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer!
Keeping the faith,
Pastor Andrea
