May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus … Romans 15:5
These are hard times. Most people are doing their very best to support each other, do the right thing, and move forward in faith. We can thank God for giving us endurance and encouragement to keep going. We are also called by the same God to think and speak the best of one another and to build each other up as we hear in Ephesians 4:29: Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
We are brothers and sisters in Christ who struggle and make mistakes, but I believe our hearts are in the right place. As a church community we are in this together called to work in unity with and for each other through all the struggles as we speak in ways that benefit those who listen. That means speaking to each other directly to ask questions and share concerns and above all encouraging each other.
The GOAT’s of football, baseball, and tennis are already spoken for. So let’s be the GOAT of Encouragement in these hard times. Let’s promote a spirit of harmony and unity as we build each other up and never lose sight of God’s mission of grace to encourage people in need. May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus … Romans 15:5
Encouraging you, Pastor Andrea
