“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.” Deuteronomy 6:5-6
Reintroducing our revised Desert Cross 2021 Word Cloud! I received many more words after my second invitation to share your “Guiding word” for 2021 and thought it fitting to use a heart shaped word cloud. The size of the words corresponds with the frequency it was shared.
We are looking to have a hopeful, thankful, joyful future. We can learn from each other’s words, and our approaches, foci, and hopes for the new year. Our community can be an example and a picture of positive faith and a loving Savior when we frame our words and actions with the beautiful guiding words from our Word Cloud. The big question for us is this: How will we apply our faith to our 2021 context of the pandemic, racial injustice, and political division to be a part of the healing process?
Please take time this Lent to participate in “Renew Our Hearts: DCLC Retreat @ Home” as a way to set our hearts and intentions in the way of Jesus. We will meditate on the Psalms, gather for Zoom worship on Wednesdays, and livestream worship on Sundays. It all begins on Ash Wednesday, February 17 at noon with our worship video including imposition of ashes and holy communion. Be sure to pick up your Ash Wednesday @ Home kit at either campus! I pray that we will merge God’s words from Deuteronomy with our Guiding words to put our faith into action, as we seek to live and serve in Jesus’ way of love in 2021!
With love,
Pastor Andrea
