Playlists
1st of Each Month on our
Desert Cross Faith Formation Website
Playlists explore a topic using a variety of activities (reading, scripture, listening to music, watching a video, playing a game, discussing questions, studying art, etc.). We choose a theme each month and post Playlists designed for Children, Youth, and Adults on our Desert Cross Faith Formation Website. Together we study the same topic but with different content. Pastor Class with Pastor Thadd
Dinner with James, Peter, John, and Judah
May 6-27
Wednesday
Potluck Dinner   6:00 pm
Class   7:00 pm
Gilbert
Fellowship Hall & Sanctuary
What does it look like to live out a resilient, authentic faith in a complicated world? How do
we navigate trials, remain grounded in truth, and love one another well? Join Pastor Thadd
for a four-week class exploring the New Testament letters of James, 1 & 2 Peter, 1, 2 & 3
John, and Jude. Together, we’ll wrestle with the practical and pastoral wisdom of these
writings—letters that speak directly to perseverance in hardship, discernment in the face
of false teaching, and the call to a faith that is active, grounded, and rooted in love.

These short but powerful books invite us to consider: What does real faith look like in daily
life? How do we remain steadfast when our beliefs are challenged? And how are we called
to live as a community shaped by truth and grace? We will gather at the Gilbert campus on
four Wednesday evenings in May, beginning May 6. A potluck dinner will start at 6:00 PM,
and the class will run from 7:00–8:00 PM.

If you’re interested, please email Pastor Thadd at tbook@desertcross.org

Book Group
Theo of Golden
May 7 & 21
2:00 pm or 7:00 pm
Tempe Community Center Adult Classroom
Our next book group is reading Theo of Golden by Allen Levi.  When a stranger comes to town, his acts of kindness have an impact on the people of Golden.  According to the publisher's description, it's "a story of giving and receiving, of seeing and being seen . . . and the invisible threads of kindness that bind us to one another."  As Pastor Thadd says, "It's the book we need for the world today."  Join us for a beautiful story.

Book Fee:  $18.00
